Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to kick off what is sure to be a fabulous year. I’m not a big resolution maker, but I am excited to work towards accomplishing more of my goals this year, one of which is to get back to the basics with this little blog of mine. There won’t be any big changes: I’ll still be sharing my projects, fun DIY’s and pictures of gorgeous homes, I just hope to do so on a more regular basis so you all know what to expect.

One thing I plan to do a lot more of is highlight the work of designers I find inspiring. From small boutique firms to high profile, celebrity designers, you can expect to see it all, starting now.

Today I’d like to shine the spotlight on Jeff Andrews of Jeff Andrews Designs. Based out of Los Angeles, Jeff’s client list includes some big names such as Ryan Seacrest, Bruce & Kris Jenner, Khloe & Lamar, and Kourtney Kardashian. Along with his impressive client list comes impressive spaces, but surprisingly enough, one of my absolute favorites is this cozy little nursery in Beverly Hills.

Why I love it: Despite being a space just for kids, it isn’t over the top in any way. The space is warm, comfortable and inviting…I mean, who wouldn’t want to snuggle up on that couch and get lost in a book?

Why it works: By using long, linear furniture and artwork, the horizontal lines of the rooms are emphasized. This, combined with the large light fixtures, makes the ceilings feel lower, which causes the room to feel as if it’s at a “kid scale.”

A simple color palette with a minimal number of colors is used which prevents the space from feeling overwhelming. The neutral furnishings are complemented by fresh green paint on the walls, which creates a space that is playful, yet has a touch of sophistication.

  1. I would love a space that big specifically for the baby stuff. Instead I corral our little guy in our cozy family room and rotate toys in and out so that he doesn’t get bored, so the house doesn’t get overly cluttered, and so I don’t go crazy from hearing the same singing toys day after day. Thanks for sharing!

  2. The ceiling does feel low! That was the first thing I noticed, and I think it’s so fitting for a kid’s room. That sectional looks so soft and wonderful, too.

  3. Hello! You have a very nice blog! I invite you to visit my blog and / or follow you, hope you like it frosted glass Greetings and … congratulations!
